FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ecological Fibers, Inc. Receives FSC Certification
Ecological Fibers, Inc. headquartered in Lunenburg, Massachusetts USA has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody certification (CoC).
For the past 36 years, under the brand name Rainbow®, Ecological has been the global leader in providing “Environmentally Sound Covering Solutions” to the book, stationery, packaging, and security industries while remaining committed to meet or exceed environmental, health and safety standards. These efforts have been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with an honorary environmental award.
This recent CoC certification assures Ecological customers that their Rainbow® products carrying an FSC label are certified to be coming from forests which are managed under the highest social and environmental standards. It also confirms Ecological’s role in the FSC supply chain and provides earned recognition of its well managed practices.
Ecological’s actions of using clean process water, recovering coated waste materials, recycling scrap paper, converting non-recyclable waste materials to energy and using renewable wood and post-consumer fibers demonstrate a dedication to protecting the environment through raw material purchases, manufacturing processes, and its treatment of waste. The Rainbow® Color product is lignin free, elemental chlorine free, carbon free and acid free. These standard product features instill further environmental credibility.
Ecological Fibers has remained committed not only to protecting the environment, but also to ensuring the health and safety of the company’s most valued assets: the employees and customers.
Ecological’s Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody certification (certificate code SW-CoC-003258) is in accordance with FSC standards: FSC-STD-40-004. This FSC certification on Rainbow® products will provide customers further assurance of their environmental commitment.
Ecological Fibers, Inc. was founded in 1972. It initially began selling binding board, construction materials and dyed through Kraft papers to the book binding industry. In 1979, Ecological acquired Narragansett Coated Papers, Inc. which enabled the company to become a global supplier of acrylic coated papers, boards and bonded leather products sold under the trademark Rainbow®.
