2007 CHA Winter Convention & Trade Show Takes Home “Stevie” Award
 
 
Elmwood Park, NJ (June 18, 2008) The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) is pleased to announce the receipt of the “Stevie Award” in the Live Event category of the 2008 American Business Awards.  Recognized as “the business world’s own Oscars,” the American Business Awards is the only national awards program honoring great performances in business. The Stevie Award winners were announced during the annual gala on June 12 in New York City.
 
CHA was nominated for its record-breaking 2007 CHA Winter Convention & Trade Show that featured Martha Stewart as the keynote speaker.  The 2007 CHA Winter Show witnessed a 12.1 percent increase in attendance over 2006, and hosted over 100 educational classes, seminars and workshops.  Industry insiders converged on the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA to explore the latest product introductions from over 959 companies, encompassing 311,341 sq. ft. of floor space, making it the largest exhibition of its kind in the world.
 
The other finalists in the Live Event category were Garden State Brickface, located in Roselle, NJ for their "Garden State Brickface Dining Dough Promotion," John Hancock Annuities located in Boston, MA, nominated for its "Financial Planner Baseball Roadshow campaign," and the Marketing Arm located in Dallas, TX,  nominated for their “Home Depot Contractor Trade Show."
 
“We are honored to be a Stevie Award recipient,” explained Steve Berger, CHA’s CEO.  “With more than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes, we look at this award as validation of all the hard work and effort put in by our staff and association members.  We are honored to be named as a Stevie Award Winner and to be associated with other business leaders nominated in this category.”
